Slim Bouricha earned his degree in mechanical engineering at George Washington University in the US. Working in merchant marine shipyards in the early stages of his career, where he learned the importance of maintenance and operational systems in commercial shipping, he also successfully designed and built equipment and facilities in the oil and gas industries.
This experience is clearly reflected in the yachts designed and produced by Lynx Yachts. Importantly, the sea is part of his DNA. Having sailed since childhood with the rest of his family, he also designed his first boat at the tender age of four!
Prior to joining the Lynx team Zutphen was project manager at Hakvoort, where he spent the majority of his career. With almost 40 years of experience in yacht construction and the management of superyacht production, his expertise is unparalleled. As a project manager with exceptional foresight who pays incredible attention to details, he guides a project from its preliminary drafts to successful delivery.
Prior to joining Lynx to lead their technical department, De Ballesteros worked as an independent consultant in shipbuilding. He has cooperated with the major Italian megayacht and commercial shipbuilders for over 20 years. He has unparalleled experience in onboard systems and holds a Masters degree in Naval architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Naples.
After Graduating from college in Pennsylvania Mike worked in the Insurance and Investment field for 8 years. While work was fulfilling his real love was boating. Most of his spare time was spent on the waters of the South New Jersey Shore. Following his passion for boating Mike decided a career change was in order and moved to Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay, and began a new career helping people fulfill their dreams of owning their perfect yacht. While selling yachts is a full time job Mike still finds the time to do an occasional delivery up or down the coast for clients and friends.
Mike states when he heard about the new Outer Reef Yachts he knew it was something he wanted to be a part of. At Outer Reef they place quality and customer satisfaction above all else.
Having spent 19+ years with Outer Reef Yachts, with the last 11 years being in upper management, Mike is still as excited as ever to be part of the Outer Reef Yachts team.
Trevor started his yachting career at 17 years of age as a sailing instructor. Following this first employment chapter, he moved on to work in the family business, a marine engineering company selling and refitting marine engines, and then selling fishing vessels and pleasure yachts. Trevor’s taste for the ocean life came about having grown up next to the famous Malahide Shipyard in
the 1970’s. Trevor remembers… “I used to be in and out the Malahide Shipyard as a young boy after school. I spent hours in and around the craftsmen at the yard, I was very lucky that these master craftsmen took pride and interest to show me many of the shipwright’s skills used in those days. It fired my passion for all things nautical.”
Trevor has been involved in the marine industry for most of his working career, from coastguard captain then moving into the marine leisure industry as shipyard representative, to dealer and distributor, and latterly consultant. Trevor for many years now, has solely focused on supporting and building Outer Reef’s global presence of which the new Outer Reef Yachts – Netherlands shipyard is a major element of our European operations and the design and build of the new Adventure series.
Jeff Druek, a native New Yorker, has an incredibly extensive background in maritime and luxury building and construction. The marriage of these life-long passions, along with his quest to exceed the expectations of his valued clients in both arenas, has created the perfect environment for exceptional yacht building within the current Outer Reef Yachts long range collection as well as the superyacht arena.
